2nd Bishops’ Synod for Africa: Married Priests Want In

The Kenyan newspaper The Standard reports today that married priests want their voice heard in the forthcoming second Synod of Catholic bishops set to begin next week in the Vatican.

Through their prelature, Married Priests Now, the clergy argue that the synod would be incomplete without the agenda of the clerics renouncing their celibacy vows.

The presiding archbishop of the movement in Kenya Rev Daniel Kasomo said the issue of married priests should be top on the agenda in the meeting to be attended by bishops from across the continent.

By the way, in an related story which we failed to report when it occured back in June (mostly because we have been keeping a distance from all these guys), the five American bishops who were part of Archbishop Milingo's "Married Priests Now" have broken with Milingo to form their own "Married Priests USA". The five are Archbishops Peter Brennan (NY), Joseph Gouthro (NV), Patrick Trujillo (NJ), George Stallings (DC) and Bishop Joaquin Perez (FL). They say that they have disassociated themselves for theological and philosophical differences...

That is funny in a sad sort of way. So, they have "disassociated themselves" from Moon's tool, Milingo? How many of those 5 had their titles bestowed on them via Moon? I say Moon because I believe he's the one who ordained and promoted a couple of them.

Which ones received titles via Moon's front group, MPN?

Doesn't Stallings still run the ACLC which Moon used to prop up MPN? I think he still heads it up. Stallings was the speaker at an ACLC conference in Vegas last Aug.

Now, just exactly what theological and philosophical differences do they have?

They should all "disassociate" themselves from any titles or ordinations they received via Moon's proxy, Milingo. They should apologize for the embarrassing display of discernment free thinking. In NJ Dec 2006 they performed Moon's blessing ceremony seamlessly woven into the end of the mass. In a ceremony in Korea recently, Milingo bowed to Moon as he received Moon's new bible - which the Moon organization claims is the word of God for the Kingdom as Moon defines it.

Need I remind you all that Moon claims Jesus Christ ultimately failed in the mission God sent Him to do - to start a sinless family lineage. Moon teaches that Jesus now serves his dead son, Heung Jin, in Heaven. Moon said that he told God that he was not like Jesus, that God could trust him, that he wouldn't cry like Jesus did in the Garden.

Here's what George Stallings said Nov. 21, 2006 KINTEX building Seoul Korea:

Father Moon was called by God, and anointed by Jesus, he is anointed, appointed and approved to lead humanity back to God and to restore all things back to God’s original ideal of creation.[...]

There is no other person on the face of the earth who is doing the will of God as True Parents. As a Christian minister I want to say that there is no one who is more like Jesus than Father Moon on the face of the earth - and that is why many of us as Christian ministers have come to see True Parents as the incarnation of God. Yes! In the position of Messiah, Savior, Lord of the Second Coming!"

Stallings is also in the news again because the Archdiocese of Washington has just settled a sex abuse claim against him and a seminarian dating back to when Stallings was pastor of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, before he left to form Imani Temple and got tangled up with Milingo. The Archdiocese paid out $125,000 to the male plaintiff in that case.
